Rosemount Extension

A challenging site sometimes brings the best out in a project, turning constraints into an opportunity to create a modern extension which focuses on the positives of the site.

In this case, the existing Kitchen and garden was overlooked by surrounding properties. The solution was to demolish the existing Kitchen and create a larger extension, which orientates views towards the garden, framed by large bi-folding doors.

Solid walls to the neighbouring sides create privacy, while natural daylight is brought into the space with new rooflights. Externally, a pergola structure was formed to provide an external seating area. Painted timber, provides a tactile surface, providing the gable of the extension with a modern aesthetic.

Internally, a new large open plan Kitchen/Dining space has been created with access to the garden via bi-fold doors. A new internal Utility has also been created, to house the appliances and provide plenty of storage space for a Family home.
