Old Schoolhouse Refurbishment

Ian McGregor Architects love an old building, so when we were approached by a client who was looking to refurbish their grade B-listed Schoolhouse, we were delighted to be able to assist.

The existing floor joists were bowing and had issues with woodworm, so they had to be stripped out and replaced. The walls were also taken back to the stone, internally, to create a fully insulated envelope.

All the windows were replaced with new sash and case windows, a new front door was carefully crafted by the contractor and the external walls were repointed.

The end result is spectacular, with a high-end finish and bespoke joinery throughout.
