Kingshill Extension

This project demonstrates how to extend your home to create additional bedrooms, while improving the aesthetics of the street frontage.

Forming a 1st floor extension over an existing ground floor provides the house with 2 additional double bedrooms, with one En-Suite, and both with built in wardrobes. The existing stair was modified to provide access to the existing and new landings.

On the ground floor, a new bay window has been created to match the shape and materials of the existing bay. This creates symmetry and provides a balance to the front elevation.

The existing roof was reslated at the front, with the original slates used on the rear elevation. This creates a unified appearance while reusing the existing slates. The existing ground floor walls to the rear and side were also re-rendered to match the crisp white side wall of the 1st floor extension.
